About
I’m Ashley.

I live in Frederick, Maryland (about 45 minutes outside of DC) with my husband, two dogs, and three cats. Our house is a funny little duplex built in 1934, situated right across from a horse farm and right next to the county fairgrounds. Each year when the fair comes to town we smell popcorn for a week and the ferris wheel lights up the back yard. It’s not a bad deal.
We’ve spent the last two years bringing our house out of a 1960s haze. When we moved in, the basement was an opium den, complete with handmade bar and orange/brown shag carpeting; the bathroom was pink, from the tub to the walls to the toilet, and yes, to the sink; the kitchen featured orange-stained wood cabinetry and faux-cobblestone Formica. It was kind of a mess. So we’re pretty proud of all that we’ve accomplished with it thus far, especially on a pretty low budget. But we can’t get too confident–there’s still plenty to do around here.

Stuff written about me (I didn’t pay them, I swear):

Hey Ashley,
I’ve followed a number of writings posted on the Ezine Articles website. Some of those I have copied and pasted on the website, UnemployedAmerican.com, which I launched after I was laid off.
Though it began as a way to link up with others going through the same unemployment roller coaster, it was also a way to get information I found online out to others.
Fortunately, my time of unemployment only lasted three months and I am proud to say that I’ve been back in the workforce since. As a result I find that time seems to race by with fewer updates on the site.
I still want to bring current articles to those who find UnemployedAmerican.com. With that said, I am curious to know if you would like to publish your helpful articles on my site directly.
I invite you to go by and take a look at the site, UnemployedAmerican.com and register. There is a ‘Submit Story’ link on the left side for your to use after you’ve registered. The site will definitely give you more exposure at no additional cost.
Please feel free to pass on names of other writers you feel could benefit from exposure on UnemployedAmerican.com.
Thank you in advance for your time!
